Hello Everyone! Sorry we missed yesterdays post and we hope to get back to our regular posts next week. Let me explain. Last week I just happened to move the right way and something moved in my knee. Once that happened I was no longer able to straighten out my leg. From that moment on I was dependent on crutches to get around, which is not easy and gets very tiring on your arms and under your arms. I met with my doctor on Tuesday and found out since my knee was locked I had a meniscus tear that is considered “emergency” since the knee did not come unlocked. It was a surprise to find out on Tuesday that I would be having surgery the next day. The surgery went well and now I am recovering and everything seems to be going as it should. I will be on the crutches a little while longer till my leg is more steady and bending the way it should be again. I am looking forward to being able to walk again without help.
If any of you have ever had to use crutches before you would know how incredibly uncomfortable and difficult it can be. Especially if you do not have much upper body strength. After being on the crutches for 2 days my muscles were beyond sore to the point that I really could not use the crutches well at all. In addition to sore muscles I had red marks under my arms where they were rubbing. Thankfully I received my crutch pads from Crutcheze. I wanted the pads to make the crutches more comfortable to use. I had NO IDEA how much better the pads would make the crutches. It was really a life saver. I went from cringing at the thought of having to get up and use the crutches to being able to do it again without pain. The pads add just the right amount of comfort and ease of use to improve the experience way beyond what I had expected. I do not understand why anyone would want to be on crutches without a pair of pads from Crutcheze.
The best part is there are a lot of solid colors and patterned styles to choose from. There is something for everyone on their site and you can dress up your crutches a bit and make them more you. Being a designer myself I am all about dressing things up and making them more interesting so it was fun to be able to do that with my crutches. All the nurses at the surgery center kept calling them my “fancy crutches” and asking where I got the pads from. So like I said, if you are ever on crutches visit www.crutcheze.com and get a pair for yourself. They also have more crutch accessories as well as items for walkers, casts, and boots. Check them out. You will be glad you did.
