This month with all the back to school, back to college, and if you really think about it the holidays are right around the corner so we are going to help you spruce up your place. This month we are going to share tips, tricks, and products that will make adding style to your place easy for everyone. This can be applied to a kid’s room as a temporary décor, since kids are always changing their mind about what they love. It will be perfect for renters and those in college dorm rooms to add a lot of style to the place, but be able to take it all down without a trace it was ever there when it’s time to move again. It will also be great for people who have family coming for the holidays and are looking for a quick way to make some changes and updates to their home that are sure to impress any overnight guests. To start the month off here are some items to set the mood. We will be going into more detail on all of these throughout the month as well. Enjoy!
.) Weathered Vines Removable Wallpaper from Walls Need Love – This is a great peel and stick wallpaper that applies to the wall just like any other wall decal. The best part is when you are ready to move or maybe even just for a change you can peel it off the wall and no one will ever know it was there. This is a great way to update a space you own and a great way for a renter to personalize their space while still getting that deposit back when it’s time to move.
.) Axis II Slipcovered Apartment Sofa from Crate and Barrel – This is a great sofa for a small space or an apartment. There is also a sectional available so you can use this in the home you already own as well. We love the slip covered options as it gives an easy way to change the cover when you want a change in your décor. That makes it easy to update the look for the holidays. It can also be easily cleaned so it will stand up to kids and pets. We love this one for its more modern, clean look.
.) Krissy Sleeper Ottoman from Brookstone – Extra guests for the holidays? Friends that crash at your place on the weekend? Then this ottoman is for you. By day this looks like a stylish leather ottoman that you can put your feet up on while relaxing in your living room. When needed the ottoman hides a bed frame that folds out to fit one person very comfortably. This is a great way to create a space for guests to stay the night if you are short on space, lacking a guest room, or maybe just need space for that one extra person.
.) Throw Pillow Cover from the Bonnie Christine Society 6 Shop – We are in love with the patterns that are created by Surface Pattern Designer Bonnie Christine and her pillow covers are no exception. We love this one in Rooted Midnight. Pillow covers are a great way to switch out older pillows for an update or use pillow forms and rotate your covers throughout the seasons to change the look all year.
.) Canvas Wall Art via Shutterfly.com – A great way to cover your walls without putting up wallpaper or painting would be to make a gallery wall. If you are good at photography yourself you can use your own images to really personalize the space or you can choose from an extensive library of images. The best part is that Shutterfly has a Design-a-Wall option that helps you with layout, sizing, and even gives you a free hanging kit to take all the hassle out of the process. Choose from a variety of layouts and options to create the gallery wall that is perfect for your space and really personalize your room.
.) DIY Crate Coffee Table via The Owner Builder Network – This is a great way to DIY a piece of furniture for your space on a budget. Assemble the table then stain or paint it whatever color you want to coordinate with the rest of your décor.
