What better way to get away with the guys than to get outdoors and really enjoy what this earth has to offer. Pack a few tents, sleeping bags, some food and drinks and head out to one of these 5 destinations that are sure to amaze you.
Havasupai Falls at The Grand Canyon – This may not be the easiest campsite to get to, but it is worth it when you see the gorgeous waterfalls that await you at the bottom. You can hike, go by horseback, or take a helicopter to this destination. Whichever method you choose do so in advance. You must have a reservation before showing up. I have heard from many that the campsites fill up and this is the type of trip you should plan in advance to make sure you have a spot when you want to go.
Point Reyes National Seashore, California – This location offers hike-in and boat-in camping only. It is all worth it when you can camp in such gorgeous surroundings. If you choose to camp at Wildcat Camp you will be able to overlook the ocean with a short walk to the beach. Even better you can hike 2 miles and reach Alamere Falls. Another option would be Tomales Bay which is a boat-in camping only site. I can’t think of a better place to camp than on the beach or overlooking the ocean with the sound of the waves helping you drift off to sleep each night.
Bartlett Cove Campground, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska – Grab your winter clothes and prepare for a camping trip with amazing views of Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park. This is a walk-in campground and it does have outhouses and a warming shelter should you get too cold. The campsites here are “bear-proof” as well. While there you can explore on your own and even take guided tours of the area.
Yellowstone National Park – Established in 1872, Yellowstone was Americas first national park and is still worth a visit today. Yellowstone is home to a variety of wildlife, which you are sure to encounter, breathtaking scenery, and geysers. You can’t miss seeing Old Faithful when visiting. There are 12 campgrounds in the park. Pick one and stay your entire trip or switch it up and spend a few nights in different areas of the park.
Acadia National Park, Maine – This national park awed so many with its beauty that early 20th century visitors donated the land that became the park. This was the first Eastern National Park. The park is full of things to do from hiking, to biking, or just relaxing and taking it all in. Many animals call this place home and so does the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast. There are many campsites to choose from, including Duck Harbor Campground located on Isle au Haut, a rugged island off the coast of Maine. Reservations are required so be sure to plan ahead.
